Stereoscopic
Stereo 3D technology has made a big comeback in the last few years and Cutting Edge has reacted wholeheartedly to the resurgence. In 2008 we began R&D on Australia’s first full stereoscopic 3D feature, Cane Toads: The Conquest working alongside the filmmakers to develop equipment and workflows to finish the film to a world class standard. This film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2010 and since then we have continued to stay at the forefront of stereo technology working in partnership with renowned sterographers testing for a number of upcoming feature productions. 2011 saw Cutting Edge play a significant role in completing Happy Feet 2 by providing staff, online and DI grading facilities with Baselight 8 and Baselight 4 in order to deliver the film in its many 2D and 3D derivatives.
Currently Cutting Edge supports the Dolby 3D™ system. 3D content created at Cutting Edge can be viewed on any of the common 3D projection systems.
