/CEX Art Auction Event for Youngcare
CEX is a creative challenge that culminates in an exhibition and auction event, raising funds and awareness for charity, Youngcare.
The CEX art challenge involves the transformation of humble bowling pins into works of art. Professional artists and creatives from Brisbane’s advertising community have heeded the call, lending their talents and donating unique pieces. The brainchild of post production studio Cutting Edge, contributors also come from all major creative agencies including, BCM, VMLYR, Gilimbaa, Rumble, Edison, PublisicQ as well as freelance artists.
The bowling pin is a unique canvas. It’s got an unmistakable shape; a cultural icon steeped in nostalgia. Contributors are advertising creatives who have different backgrounds and disciplines. The artists are award-winning Creative Directors, Animators, VFX Artists and Designers, and it is fascinating to see how highly individual the results are.

“Fantastic creative works of art, and a great cause. This is not only a lot of fun, but a great platform for Youngcare to share our story. The money raised makes a real impact. We invite everyone to come and enjoy the exhibition, and bid on some impressive art.”

Youngcare helps provide in-home support and purpose built homes that help offer age-appropriate housing for young Australians who would otherwise have to live in aged care facilities. With more than 6,000 young people living in residential aged care, with little choice over basic daily activities like using the bathroom, showering and choosing when and what to eat, it was very heartwarming to see people unite behind this cause.
Now in its second year, CEX is set to return 7pm, 16 October at the Triffid, Newstead, Brisbane.
