We love helping creatives capture great stories, so we created this easy to use Photoshop plugin. On the link below you will find a plugin that will help you create professionally laid out storyboards with ease.
Save the downloaded plugin .atn file into /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2015/Presets/Actions.
Load the action & run in ‘button’ mode (click on the hamburger menu and toggle button mode in the Actions Panel).
HERE’S A RUN THROUGH
ACTION 1 – 16:9
The first action creates a storyboard panel at a 16:9 ratio.
ACTION 2 – IMPORT FRAMES
Drag in 6 images (at 16:9 ratio) in the order you would like each frame to appear. This will create 6 smart layers. Note, if you need less than 6 you still need to select the extra frames to be able to run the scripts, the additional boards can be deleted later.
ACTION 3 – RESIZE
Automatically resizes all images.
ACTION 4 – REARRANGE
Automatically rearranges all images to fit the panels.
ACTION 5 – CREATE BOARD TEXT
Creates generic text below each panel which can be edited.
ACTION 6 – BOARD INFO
Creates generic board info text which can be edited.
ACTION 7 – PAGE GROUP
Automatically groups our page. Before creating a new page this action must be run.
ACTION 8 – NEW PAGE
Creates a second page and toggles visibility of the group below.
ACTION 9 – SPELL CHECK
Runs a script to check spelling.
ACTION 10 – LAYER COMPS
Opens ‘Layer Comps Panel,’ which is necessary for creating the board PDF. Unfamiliar with ‘Layer Comps’?

ACTION 11 – RESIZE TO A4
Resize the canvas to A4.
ACTION 12 – EXPORT TO PDF
Runs a script to export the boards to PDF. Note, this will save into the same folder that you have saved your board document to.
