/Senior Producer

Overall Responsibilities 

You will work with the Head of Features & Television, Producers and Artists to coordinate the operational requirements of the daily workflow. You will ensure deliverables are being tracked and established targets and milestones are communicated and met. This position will liaise with clients, answer their enquiries and relay messages between clients, production and team members. You will assist the Head of Features & Television with sourcing new business opportunities while liaising between team members to ensure all post projects are completed successfully, achieving or exceeding the client’s expectations.

Your key duties and responsibilities will be, but are not limited to:

  • Assist Head of Features & Television and other department heads as required. 
  • Proactively engage in strategic discussions around new markets, client contacts and introductions.
  • Actively source new business opportunities through proactive approaches and contacts
  • Follow up new business opportunities through proactive approaches and contacts
  • Establish new business and develop existing key industry relationships
  • Weekly check-ins of IF, Screen Australia, Create NSW and other publications for upcoming projects
  • Oversee producers with tasks as required
  • Provide detailed and accurate quotes for Longform projects
  • Ensuring all job costs are tracked against quotes to ensure profit margins are retained
  • Assisting with the collation of work in progress (WIP) details from production staff
  • Schedule suites, facilities and artists for current and upcoming projects
  • Provide detailed and accurate quotes for Longform projects
  • Scheduling of internal & external resources including artists and suites
  • Arrange freelance artists when required
  • Be across and assist freelancers contracts, rates and contract terms
  • Ensure all resources for projects are coordinated effectively 
  • Assist and update production staff in the use of Odoo and monitoring and enhancing continued use
  • Prepare and finalise billings and budgets
  • Project and scheduling management from confirmation to delivery
  • Organise dailies, rounds and project meetings
  • Assign, prepare and brief artists prior to each project / session
  • Organise and set up media for client review sessions
  • Liaise with CE Producer (Online Editor(s) and Colourist(s) to assist coordination of project workflows and DTS documentation for clients
  • Ensure the approved dailies guidelines as outlined in the published DTS document for each production are adhered to by operators
  • Following and contributing to the CE media best practice guidelines. Working with other CE departments to maintain parity of media workflows between facilities as required
  • Training CE client operators or CE operators in dailies workflow and best practice data management as per the published CE guidelines, as directed by CE producers
  • Supporting dailies operators; addressing issues arising once production has viewed dailies and QC reports
  • Following and contributing to the CE media best practice guidelines. Working with other CE departments to maintain parity of media workflows between facilities as required
  • Maintain best practice data security procedures, including having an understanding of MPAA / TPN guidelines
  • Working within CE and client NDA agreements
  • Ensuring work is being approved and completed on time and to specification
  • Establishing quality control and project closure processes
  • Ensuring all resources for projects are coordinated effectively 
  • Ensuring effective communication and continual team updates

  • Communicating with IT to establish appropriate store node for upcoming projects

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years employment within the Feature Film & Television production industry
  • Knowledge of content production and a thorough understanding of the post production processes
  • Experience supervising people and projects
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Good researcher with an understanding of trends
  • Good listening, pitching and quoting skills with the ability to take a brief and correctly pass it o
  • Ability to understand clients and their needs and requirements with the ability to close a deal
  • Highly organised with strong written and communication skills 
  • Excellent scheduling and task management skills
  • Extensive industry contacts
  • Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to problem solve effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to liaise and collaborate with clients, artists and producers
  • Established software knowledge
  • Strong sense of client service
  • Diplomacy skills
  • An eye for detail
  • Ability to operate autonomously as well as a part of a team

  • Completes all Company OH&S training courses and sessions 
  • Reports any OH&S incidents or accidents that occur in the workplace immediately 
  • Ensures all Occupational Health and Safety equipment is in working order and serviced regularly 
  • Maintains a tidy work area
